Meet Klassiq Cruze, born Akunjor Samuel Nton, a dynamic artist from Ikom L.G.A, Cross River State, Nigeria. Born in 1998, he is the only surviving child of the late Dr. Akunjor Agbama Akunjor.
Growing up as an orphan, Klassiq Cruze found solace in music. “With so many scars and pains, the only thing that comforted me was composing melodies—translating every phase of my life into songs,” he shares. Influenced by artists like DMX, Eminem, Michael Jackson, M.I Abaga, and more, he turned life’s struggles into art.
The loss of his father at an early age and the challenges that followed fueled his decision to take music seriously, not just as an escape but as a means to build a lasting legacy.
Breaking Into Music
Klassiq Cruze officially began his music career in 2016 with his debut cypher, Street Anthem, alongside rapper Nice Chriz. In 2018, he gained recognition with his track Child’s Play, which was featured on multiple platforms.
His sound blends Hip-Hop, Drill Trap, Afrobeats, Afroswing, R&B Soul, and Dancehall, showcasing his versatility. His biggest musical influences include Fela Kuti, Eminem, Nas, Jay-Z, Skepta, Central Cee, and Wizkid.
“I would describe my artistic style as unique. My music is shaped by life experiences, emotions, and the energy created during production,” he explains. However, like many rising artists, one of his biggest challenges has been getting his music heard on a global scale. “I’m still working hard to change that by investing more in my craft.”
The Oluwason Album: A Journey through Pain & Triumph
Klassiq Cruze’s latest album, Oluwason (Son of Grace), is a deeply personal project inspired by the struggles of an orphan who has faced betrayal, backstabbing, and neglect, yet continues to rise through grace.

“The creative and recording process was intense but filled with so much energy,” he says. “I hope my listeners connect with it because this album touches on hustle, life struggles, love, and personal growth. Everyone will find something they relate to.”

As an independent artist, Klassiq Cruze takes pride in how far he has come, despite the challenges of breaking into an industry where real talent often goes unrecognized.
“I know I’ve made an impact beyond Calabar, even though recognition has been slow. My single Atitila was deserving of an award, even at the PFMA (Paradise Music Festival & Awards).”
One of his most memorable career moments was performing alongside Naira Marley and Poco Lee at the Cross River International Carnival (Calabash Edition).
Looking Ahead: The Future of Klassiq Cruze
Klassiq Cruze is focused on becoming a standout icon and a voice for the lost generation.
His next move? A new single featuring Taurus D Bull titled Eno-Obong, set to drop after his Album.
He also has big dreams for the future, aiming for a Headies nomination, a Hennessy Cypher feature, and, if destiny allows, a shot at the Grammys.
Beyond Music: The Man Behind the Sound
Outside of music, Klassiq Cruze is a creative picture framer and has a deep passion for cinematography. However, working independently without a team has been a challenge. “I push forward regardless, but I hope things change soon.”
